about

Based in Jindabyne, NSW, Filo Studio is an interior design and building design consultancy practice founded by Niki Fisher and Trent Lowe, bringing together a shared passion for thoughtful design, craftsmanship, and innovation.

The collaboration grew from the creation of Mill Cabin in the Snowy Mountains, a project that reflects their complementary approach to design and making. Combining Niki’s design background with Trent’s experience as a carpenter on architectural residential projects in Melbourne, Filo Studio offers a holistic perspective that bridges concept and construction.

Grounded in simplicity, materiality, and connection to nature, the studio creates interiors that are both functional and deeply considered. Drawing on hands-on building knowledge and a refined design sensibility, Filo Studio works closely with clients to craft spaces that feel authentic, enduring, and uniquely connected to their surroundings.

Our aesthetic is driven by a commitment to sustainability, favouring raw, natural and locally available materials wherever possible, with a focus on thoughtful, cost-effective design. We are inspired by the philosophy of Charles and Ray Eames: that good design should be accessible, and that humble or inexpensive materials can be elevated through careful consideration of form and purpose.
